TABLE MOUNTAIN TRAILERS @safetymountain tracking

Hi Trailers,

You may remember a couple of weeks ago there was an incident involving a suspected broken ankle as we descended Bokkemanskloof. We were expertly assisted by @safetymountain tracking, a group of volunteers who work through WhatsApp to coordinate whatever assistance is required, depending on the type of emergency. It turned out that we didn't need the helicopter they were prepared to send us via Metro Search & Rescue but it was good to know that we were in contact with emergency services within a few minutes of the accident happening.

I promised at the time to send out instructions for registering with @safetymountain and promptly forgot to do so, but here they are now

Hope to see you at TrailWPs trail running info evening next week where we'll be hearing about some basic mountain first aid from a doctor, as well as recommended trail kit, a race organiser's perspective on safety, and a chance to rub shoulders with a trail running celebrity. Highly recommended for newbies!

Enjoy the rest of your week!

Lorraine
