This week TMT will be visiting the recently reopened Silvermine (Gate 1).

Rendezvous and start time

First entrance to Silvermine on the right coming from Tokai. Gates to the reserve open at 7:00am but the queues can be long so get there early.  We'll meet at 07:15am at the parking to the left just after the gate, to start running as soon as possible thereafter.

Please note there is an entrance fee of R32 for SA Citizens (cash only and remember to bring your ID), unless you have Wild Card or Green Card.

Route
We head up the river walk until we reach the dam, take the trail to the right of the damn onward to Blackburn lookout. Our circular route returns via the Panorama path or Noordhoek Circuit route, and back down river walk to the cars.

Terrain and distance

This route has a bit of everything (jeep track and single track). 10-13 kms depending on what route we choose round the dam, taking about 2h30min.

Relaxed group: To be confirmed
