While most of Cape Town was
enveloped in thick mist, we had a wonderful time running in Silvermine above
the cloud.
34 trailers met in the gloom at Kalk Bay station and all three
groups started the long slog up the steps to Boyes Drive, and up to Weary
Willies. At the junction, the longer group - ably led by Richard (welcome back
Richard!) went up Spes Bona valley to start their loop and the medium group
went up Echo Valley to the Amphitheatre.
There the medium group split into 2
with the faster group led by Aubrey (thanx Aubrey!).
Peter led the slow group
who did 8km in 2h10. Thanx to Maura and co who waited to welcome
the slower medium group and hand over the register.
Most groups (except the slow medium
group) did approximations of the planned routes, but all enjoyed the cool
weather, the beautiful views, the haunting misty bits and the wonderful downhill
home.
