38 of us met up at the Mouille Point lighthouse for
Gaeleen’s 200th run with the group. Instead of the usual fog,
the weather man was correct: it was windy.
We took a gentle run along the promenade (allowing some late
comers time to catch up), and then headed up Glengariff Rd – with calves
burning by the time we got to the top.
Then it was a mixture of rocky
single track, some tar and some jeep track as we followed our route in an
anti-clockwise direction. Spectacular views along the way.
The slow group managed about 9 km, the medium group about 13.5 km, and
the fast group added an extra loop and added another 2 km to their run, all
finishing in approx 2 h 15 mins.
The run ended with Gaeleen being presented with her purple
t-shirt and a group of us enjoying a celebratory coffee and breakfast.
