FEEDBACK: Sat 17th June Silvermine North Gate 1

Feedback to follow.

Hi Trailers

This week we return to Silvermine North (the side where the dam is) - Note the later start time of 8.5am (a nice lie in for a long weekend) - the Winter opening time of the gate is 8am.

RouteWe start at the middle parking area or mountain bikers parking and follow the trail along Steenberg Ridge to Elephant's Eye lookout. From there we head to the old Blackburn lookout spot. Then we take the Panorama trail to Noordhoek Peak. Come back via the Silvermine Orange Kloof trail, onto the trail that runs parallel to the river. Cross the tar road back to the mountain bikers parking - map attached

Rendezvous and start timeMiddle parking/Mountain bikers parking lot in Silvermine ready to start at 8.15am. That means you need to be at the gate by 8am latest.

How to get there?  Coming from Cape Town, turn right off Ou Kaapse Weg to Gate 1 Silvermine.

Terrain and distanceSingle track and jeep track, some climbs. About 12-14 kms.

Medium groupThe Medium group will follow the same route at a more modest pace. Or their leader may decide to take a shortcut.

Slow groupTo be confirmed on Friday

DogsPlease note that K-Way VOB club rules do not permit dogs on our runs.

What to bring?Green/Wild Card/R50 entrance fee.
Water, whistle, warm/windproof top depending on weather.
