TABLE MOUNTAIN TRAILERS Sat 18 January 2020 Cecilia/Rooikat/Spilhaus

Hi Trailers
This week we do an old route. Our route takes us on a circular route along the contour path from Cecilia to Skeleton Gorge, up and down Rooikat, past Cecilia waterfall and Spilhaus Ravine.

Brief description of route
Start at the Cecelia Forest parking (corner Hohenort and Rhodes drive) and follow the cycle track, parallel to Rhodes drive, towards Southern Cross drive. From there, groups follow the steep jeep track towards Constantia Nek, before turning north along the upper contour path.  Then up the stairs to Rooikat Ravine and towards Cecelia waterfall.  Carry on to the Fourways signpost above Kirstenbosch, where the Main group can do an extra loop to Skeleton's Gorge.

Rendezvous and start time
RV in the Cecelia Forest parking (corner Hohenort and Rhodes drive) in time to start running at 06h30.

Terrain and distance
A mixture of single and jeep tracks with a bit of a climb up Rooikat.  Enough to get your heart rate into vigorous mode for your Discovery points :)
More or less 10-12 km taking in the region of about 2.0.

Groups
This is a pack run with regular regroups, we will split into speed groups with leaders and sweeps on the morning.
The relaxed group will be confirmed on Friday.

Dogs
Please note that  K-Way VOB club rules do not permit dogs on our runs.

What to bring
Water, whistle, warm/windproof top depending on weather, space blanket, ICE ID - either on your phone, bracelet/tag, card in your backpack.

Important: Please remember to look behind you at every turn in the route to make sure the people behind you see which way you are going.
Leaders of each group will ensure that no-one is left behind. Please keep the groups together and ensure that no-one is left on their own.

See you there!
