- Don't forget to bring your entry fee (R36) and ID.
- There is no walking group, unfortunately.
Good Morning Trailers!
This week TMT will be returning to Silvermine via Gate 1 (the dam side).
Route
Starting from the Gate 1 Car park, immediately on the left as you drive through the Gate, the longer, faster group will head up the River Walk to the Dam Car Park where they will turn right and head upwards on single track (blue line) to the Fire Lookout before heading towards the Blackburn Ravine lookout point, then up left onto the Panorama route (blue line), and finish off with a meander down to Gate 1 via one of the trails parallel to the River Walk. See Map.
The Relaxed Group will run from the Gate 1 Car Park (immediately left as you enter Gate 1 up the River Walk, taking the path to the right of the dam all the way to the Blackburn lookout. The return journey will be on the 'inside' of the valley, taking the Crassula path back to the Dam, and homeward either on a trail parallel to the River Walk or retracing their steps down the River Walk itself. See the red line on the map.
The Walking Group - to be confirmed on Friday - will trace the River Walk up to the Dam and back down, and perhaps add a saunter around the dam itself. (Green line.)
Terrain and Distance.
Some undulating bush trails and gravel tracks, as well as some nice single tracks. Distance will be approx. 10 km for the shorter route and 14 km for the longer route. +- 2hrs 30 mins
