Fwd: TABLE MOUNTAIN TRAILERS - SATURDAY 27TH APRIL - KELINPLAAS DAM WITH TAKE BACK OUR MOUNTAINS

Hi Trailers,

Our run tomorrow is confirmed. There are two main routes planned: one 15km and one 7km.  There will be a run and a hike for the 7km route, and just a run for the 15km one.
I will share the maps and gpx files on the WhatsApp group, so if you are interested in joining and are not yet on the WA group, please let me know. 0725750914.

To be honest, I don't really know what to expect! There may be a lot of people participating in this community event, so I hope we will be able to maintain some sort of Table Mountain Trailers presence amongst them!  Do wear your TMT t-shirt if you  have one!

See you tomorrow at the meeting point on the Glencairn Expressway at 6.40/6.45 for check in and briefing. I'll send the PIN for the start by WhatsApp too.

Good luck to those members doing Deli to Deli!

See you there!

Subject: TABLE MOUNTAIN TRAILERS - SATURDAY 27TH APRIL - KELINPLAAS DAM WITH TAKE BACK OUR MOUNTAINS

Hi Trailers,

This Saturday we'll join with other trail lovers to hike and run in the Kleinplaas dam area - an area we haven't been able to explore for many years due to high crime in the area.

The original organisers of this Freedom Day event are Deep South Trail, TBOM and PUFfeR Ultra.  You can read more about the event here: https://fb.me/e/14zOVO35Y

Rendezvous and start time:

We'll meet at 6:45am on the Blackhill Expressway. Exact starting point to be finalised on Friday.

Route:

The route will  be 15km in total for the runners and 7km for the hikers. I will share the route on Friday.

Donations:

Take Back Our Mountains (TBOM) would welcome donations which can be made via Quicket: https://www.quicket.co.za/fundraisers/229527-tbom-donations/

What to bring:

Water, whistle, warm/windproof top, rain jacket - weather dependent, space blanket, ICE ID - either on your phone, bracelet/tag, card in your backpack.

Please make sure that you are carrying the right equipment, enough food and water.

Important: Please remember to look behind you at every turn in the route to make sure the people behind you see which way you are going.  Please keep together and ensure that no-one is left on their own.

Have a great week.
