Subject: FW: TABLE MOUNTAIN TRAILERS - SATURDAY 28 September Pipetrack, Diagonal and Echo Valley

Hi Trailers

We return to the top of table mountain this week starting at Kloof Nek parking, going up via Diagonal, exploring Echo Valley and descending via Kasteelspoort. Diagonal has some exposure – for those that don't enjoy exposure there are various options – run through to ascend via Woody Ravine and descend via Kasteelspoort or out and back on the pipetrack

Route

We park at Kloof Nek and start off with a 2.5km jaunt along the pipe track. When we reach the turn off to Diagonal we turn left and ascend to the top of the mountain. We can explore Valken Labyrinth before turning left and running through the Valley of the Red Gods to the Junction in Echo Valley. We turn right to run along the valley. At the second junction there are 2 options:

Short:  Turn right and run down to meet the jeep track from the dams, Turn right on to the jeep track and run through to Kasteelspoort, down and back along the pipe track (12km)

Long: Continue straight to Smuts Track, turn right and run through to the Aqueduct junction. Turn down Aqueduct and run through to the dam wall and the jeep track. Follow the same route home as the short run (16km)

Rendezvous and start time

Meet at Kloof Nek parking at 6h20 ready to run at 6h30

Terrain & Distance

Pipetrack, jeep track and single track. Short route 12km Longer route 16km
