Happy Monday Trailers!
This week we're in The North with a later start at Tygerberg Nature Reserve.Route detailsThe park is not big but there are good single tracks and a bit of elevation for us to zig and zag around with amazing panoramic views. We will start with the Duiker loop and then join up with Tortoise up to the transmitter, along Watsonia and down right onto Grey Rhebok. Following the border to Honey Badger and then joining up with Ukhetshe we will follow the path back round until we get to the Golden Mole intersection where we'll go right and wiggle waggle back to the visitors center. All in all, around 12km and about 2.5 hours for the relaxed group as we stop to admire the view.Rendezvous and Start TimeThe main entrance parking lot is at the end of Totius Street, Welgemoed. The park opens at 07h30 but please come earlier as parking can fill quickly, we will meet just inside the gate passed the ticket office to avoid a queue. We'll start as close to 07h30 as we can. Please note there is a R40 entrance fee and the reserve gate is cashless. This reserve is not part of SANParks or Cape Nature, so My Green Card will not work here.
What to bringEntrance fee, water, whistle, warm, wind, or waterproof top depending on weather plus your space blanket and ICE information.Important:This is a pack run with regular regroups. We usually split into two or three pace groups. Group leaders will be indicated on the day. Remember to look behind you at every turn in the route to ensure the people behind you see which way you are going.*Please note adjustments to the route may be made whilst running depending on the group and weather conditions.
Unfortunately no dogs are allowed on our runs.
Have a great week!Samantha0723144341
