Fwd: Fw: TABLE MOUNTAIN TRAILERS: Saturday 28th April 2018: Constantia Greenbelt-Kirstenbosch loop

Good Morning Trailers

This weekend being a long weekend we have chosen a relatively chilled route through the Constantia Greenbelt that will allow us to stretch our legs a bit.

Rendezvous and Start Time:

7:00am - Constantia Sports Complex (parking to the immediate left of the entrance).

Route and Terrain:

We have two routes to pick from depending on the distance you would like to cover.  Neither are very technical so good for beginners or those who just want a good run in the company of mother nature:

Medium Group: 11-12 km, taking us approx 2hrs

Longer Group: 15-16 km, taking us approx 2.5- 3hrs

Both start with a gentle course up the Diepriver Trail Greenbelt to Southern Cross Drive, where we turn right up into Cecilia Forest.
Running towards Kirstenbosch the Longer Group will turn left up onto the contour path.  After spending some time on the contour path turning down Skeleton Gorge and heading back through the Klaasenbosch Greenbelt via Kirstenbosch or Cecilia Forest.
The Medium Group will continue to the Kirstenbosch top gate (if they let us through, otherwise a loop back to Cecilia Forest) to return down Klaasenbosch Greenbelt .

We should miss the majority of parkrun peeps and finish with a nice clean run back to the cars.

The exact route will be decided by the various leaders on the day.

Terrain gentle single track and some jeep track, with occasional crossing of tar so please look out for traffic, mostly undulating surrounded by beautiful flora.  Some parts are also popular with cyclists so our reflexes will be tested.

Relaxed Group will be confirmed on Friday

The small print:

All the usual rules apply with regard to water, warm tops and whistles, as well as space blankets and ICE information.  Winter is coming, do not underestimate the chill factor.

This is a pack run, whilst you may not achieve a PB, good clean fun is included. Please remember to look behind you at every turn in the route to make sure the people behind you see which way you are going.

Important for safety: Stay with your group. Front Runners, wait for the back of your pack to catch their breath before moving on.

Please note no dogs are allowed on our runs.

Look forward to seeing you there.

Regards

Sam

1] you understand the associated risks involved and accept full responsibility for your own safety.

2] you are medically and physically fit to participate and

3] are carrying the necessary water, clothing and safety equipment required for the particular run.
