Saturday 23 March 2019 - Cape Point - Olifantsbos

Morning Trailers

On Saturday we will be  running in beautiful Cape Point doing the Olifantsbos Sirkelsvlei loop. Please remember to bring your Wild Card or My Green Card for free entry or money for entry fee)
 
According to the Sanpark and Cape Point website, the entry fee as of 1 Nov for locals (with ID) is now R76. It used to be R135! They have split out international entry fees which are high.
 
 Route details
We start at the Olifantsbos parking and run along the beach visiting the various wrecks before turning inland on single track up a gentle rise taking us through to Sirkelsvlei. Here there is an option to run out to the north and back again to get more distance if required or we turn west along the vlei and make our way back to the cars
Always beautiful running past the wrecks and then up to the vlei where we normally see bontebok, ostriches and turtles.
Cape Point weather is always different so please come prepared for everything.
Rendezvous and Start Time  
RV at Olifantsbos parking ready to start running at 6:45am . The gate opens at 6 and we'll give people some time to drive through to the park and the start 
Terrain and Distance 
 
 Rocky single track and beach with a gentle climb and descent. Distance around 10km with an option for an out and back extension at sirkelsvlei. 
 
  Relaxed Group

.Please Bring:  
 
A Whistle, water, a warm /waterproof/windproof top  dependent on weather, space blanket and ICE tag or card   
 
For safety, it is the responsibility of everyone to check behind you to ensure that the person behind is still there and that they see where you turn off 
 
Directions:
 
 Go through the park entry gate and drive along the road for about 2kms before turning right to Olifantsbos. It is a 10km drive to the parking.
