SATURDAY 16TH MARCH 2019: VLAKKENBERG

Hi Trailers,

This week’s sortie will begin at Constantia Nek and see us running down the hill towards Hout Bay for a few hundred meters before taking the pipe track behind the houses of Bokkemanskloof Estate and into the mountains. We’ll head up the hill to the trail crossroads and take the path to picnic rock before turning northwards towards Constantia Nek again, via the path that skirts Silvermist wine estate.

The Faster group may extend their run by taking the contour path as far as the manganese mines. The Relaxed group (to be confirmed on Friday) will follow the same route as the Mediums at a more leisurely pace.

Terrain and Distance
Mostly single track with a section of jeep track at the beginning.

Distance about 10kms, taking about 2 hours for the Medium group.

Rendezvous and Start Time
Meet at Constantia Nek at 6:25am for a sort run briefing, to start running at 6:30am

What to bring
Water, whistle, warm wind or waterproof top.
ICE details and a silver blanket just in case.

Sorry-no dogs.

Regards,
Lorraine
