Hi Trailers
Tomorrow's run is ON
Relaxed group: Confirmed
For details – see below email
Hope to see you in the morning
Gae (083 55 696 79)
PS Often no cell phone signal on Silvermine
Our next run will be as follows:
13 July 2019 : Silvermine and the Sunbird Centre
Route
We haven't run this route in a while but we will basically do the same route, but this time we will start from the parking in Silvermine (Gate 2), cross the road and run the Old Wagon Route first and then up the Silvermine valley via the Sunbird Centre
Run Leader/Manager
Julian and Gae Tompkins
Rendezvous and Start Time
RV at the Silvermine Gate 2 Parking area. The gate only opens at 8 am, so we can try and start at 8.15 am. If you need to wait for the gate to open, please make sure you are well off the road and visible to other cars
How to get there? Drive up Ou Kaapse Weg from the Constantia Valley side, over the top and past the entrance to Silvermine North West (dam) on your right and look out for the next entrance to Silvermine East on your left hand side. This is where we will meet. As far as I know there isn't an entrance fee as such, but you must please bring money for parking – probably about R10. Maybe bring your Wildcard or extra money in case their policy has changed
Terrain and Distance. Some undulating bush trails and gravel tracks via the Old Wagon Road. Then a good downhill jog to the Sunbird centre then a gradually steeping run up the valley. The plan is to go to the amphitheatre before returning to our cars
Distance will be approx. 14 km and in the region of 2hrs 30 mins
Our runs are pack runs and will may split into 2 or 3 pace groups on the day. Relaxed group to be confirmed on Friday
What to bring
Water (essential), whistle, warm, wind or waterproof top depending on weather
PS Sorry no dogs allowed on VOB runs
Cheers
Gae (083 55 696 79) and Julian
