Re: TABLE MOUNTAIN TRAILERS Table Mountain Trailers: Saturday 26th September: Vlakkenberg loop

Hello Trailers,

Our run tomorrow is HAPPENING. 😊

There are a lot of people away for the long weekend so we can't guarantee leaders for the Fast and/or Relaxed groups. We'll therefore run as a pack.

The weather forecast suggests a cool but dry morning. Please bring a waterproof just in case the clouds are still hanging around from the overnight drizzle.

See you all at 6:50 at the Nek!

Hi Trailers,

This Saturday we'll be heading to Vlakkenberg for the first time in 10 months! It's our usual out and back route to Picnic Rock for the relaxed and medium groups, and extended as far as the manganese mines for the racing snakes.

Subgroups are dependent on numbers and the availability of leaders. We'll update this info on Friday.

Rendezvous and start time
Meet at
6:50am at Constantia Nek parking. We start running at 7am.

Terrain and distance
Almost all single track except for a small section of tar. The route is around 10km and will take around 2h30 for the medium group.

Please remember to adhere to the COVID rules below

  • No gathering in a big group at start or end of the run
  • All runners to carry a mask or buff
  • Practice social distancing
  • We will break into small groups as per regulations while we run
  • No personal sign in – ensure the leader ticks you in/out. Please carry emergency contact numbers in your bag or on your wrist/shoe
  • We will monitor the groups on a weekly basis for size
  • VOB reserves the right to stop TMT if the COVID infections increase again in the Western Cape
  • If you have any symptoms or have been in contact with anyone with symptoms, please stay at home
  • If you are not comfortable with group running yet, you can use the maps to enjoy the routes in your own time.

Dogs

Please note that  K-Way VOB club rules do not permit dogs on our runs.

What to bring
Water, whistle, warm/windproof top, rain jacket- weather dependent, space blanket, ICE ID - either on your phone, bracelet/tag, card in your backpack.

At this time of year, the weather can change fast. Please make sure that you are carrying the right equipment, enough food and water

ImportantPlease remember to look behind you at every turn in the route to make sure the people behind you see which way you are going.
Leaders of each group will ensure that no-one is left behind. Please keep the groups together and ensure that no-one is left on their own.

See you there!
Lorraine
