Happy Monday Trailers
This Saturday morning 9 November we are heading back to Rhodes Mem, Newlands Forest.Starting at Rhodes Mem top parking lot.https://maps.app.goo.gl/b3429LTRSRQ4Re8w5 (👈🏽 click for directions)Route detailshttps://www.strava.com/routes/3222190271945720692 (👈🏽 Click for Strava download)Starting from Rhodes Mem top parking we warm up doing a gentle climb up to the Contour Path below Kings Blockhouse. We then take a gentle run along the Contour Path over the Aloe's 400 stairs and Skeleton Gorge Waterfall after which we turn down Smuts track returning back via the Cycle Track and Woodcutters back to our cars.Rendezvous and Start Time:RV at Rhodes Mem top parking at 6:20am ready to start running at 6:30am
If the gate to Rhodes Mem top parking is not open on the day we will park and start from the lower parking, adjusting our route as needed.
Terrain and Distance:
Mostly single track with plenty of "up" to start and undulating running.Distance: approx 13kms taking about 2h30 minsWalking Group will be confirmed on Friday.Please Bring:A whistle, water, a warm /waterproof/windproof top dependent on weather, space blanket and ICE (In Case of Emergency) tag or cardImportant: Our runs are pack runs and may split into 2 or 3 pace groups on the day. Please remember to look behind you at every turn in the route to make sure the people behind you see which way you are going. Please keep together and ensure that no-one is left on their own. Routes are subject to deviation on the day.
Unfortunately no dogs allowed on our runs.
